On September 15, the main concrete frame of new district of Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital designed by Beijing Lianhua Architectural Design Co., Ltd. completed. It has 1,000 beds and a total construction area of 175,500 m2, of which 130,760 m2 above ground and 44,740 m2 underground.
After completion, it will serve as the western district of Shanxi Provincial People’s Hospital. Relying on more than sixty years of medical culture accumulation and capabilities on clinical, scientific research and teaching, keep exploring the way of combination of the medical care and curing, the new district of Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital will give full play to its characteristics and advantages of a tertiary general hospital to improve the ability of response public emergencies, to further consolidate the foundation for Shanxi's medical service system and to provide better and more comprehensive health and medical services.

All the leaders of the hospital, some staff of the department of affairs management and responsible comrades of relevant construction units such as Shanxi Construction Engineering Group participated in the event. The Shanxi Provincial People’s Hospital New District Project is located in Jiancaoping District, Taiyuan City (east to Heping South Road, south to Shele South Street, west to Taibai Road and north to Shele Street), covering an area of 327 acres (usable area of 252 acres).
