On the morning of October 22, the licensing ceremony of the National Regional Medical Center and the intensive research symposium were held in Xiamen. Shanxi Bethune Hospital Tongji Shanxi Hospital was successfully selected as one of the first batch of 10 pilot units of national regional medical centers, marking that the construction of our hospital's regional medical center has entered the "fast lane". Wu Hua, Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of Shanxi Bethune Hospital, was awarded the plaque on behalf of the hospital.
On July 24, 2019, General Secretary Xi Jinping made a major decision and deployment to carry out the pilot work of regional medical center construction at the ninth meeting of the Central Deep Reform Commission. The Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government seized this rare historical opportunity, promoted at a high level, operated efficiently and actively introduced high-quality medical and health resources. In August last year, with the strong support of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, the Shanxi Provincial Government and Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology signed a trusteeship agreement for Shanxi Bethune Hospital to jointly build a regional medical center.
